WHAT OTHERS SAY....

The following comments were from the "AWAKENINGS" equivalent we give for the Boy Scouts of America. Here's what they said...

"I will never feel the same way towards Native American beliefs again. I have honestly learned a lot and hope you continue to give this course so that others can gain the insight you have given me. Thank you. "

"I think the best part of the weekend is that it doesn’t really end."

"The stalking is some seriously cool stuff."

"Outstanding staff due to their knowledge and ability to work together. Very, very easy going staff - Made me feel like family!"

***"Crow, Kane, and Scully are pure adrenaline!! A wild roller coaster ride through the wilderness!!"***

"I found the entire weekend was jammed packed with information and skills. I enjoyed myself tremendously and can only hope to remember all that was taught."

"My family is putting up a pool in my backyard, so we chopped up a huge circle of grass and turned over all the dirt and raked it out nice and level. Later that night I went out back for something and low and behold there in the loose damp soil was tons of perfectly clear tracks!!!! My dog, my brother, a racoon and what I think was a rabbit all left tracks in the circle. I took of my boots and socks and looked at all their tracks really carefully. After I had looked over all of their tracks I looked at my own for awhile. So any way I wanted to thank you for teaching me to appreciate and look with such awe at something that a year ago would have meant nothing to me and now provided me with a couple hours of enjoyment and enlightenment."

ADELPHI UNIVERSITY
The Delphian, December 9, 1998

On November 12, AEAC (Adelphi Environmental Action Coalition) sponsored a special event about Nature and Wilderness Survival, hosted by field experts Steve K. and Crow. The discussion and demonstration centered around surviving in the wilderness in a peaceful and non-intrusive manner. Some of the techniques demonstrated were fire-making using a bow drill and rope-making using naturally-occurring materials like cedar bark. The spiritual aspects of this type of survival were a major focus: one cannot survive in nature if one tries to conquer it. This event was wonderfully informative, but there was simply not enough time to discuss everything. Hopefully, the AEAC will invite Steve and Crow back for another night of enlightenment.
