PERSONAL INSTRUCTION BY THE FOLLOWING ARTISANS: Janet Altman has been sewing from childhood and has been machine knitting for the past 17 years. Nancy Ariewitz is a long time teacher at New York City's Learning Annex. She is presently employed at Knitting Fever. Eleanor de Vecchis is the Past President of Peconic Ruggers. She is also a member of the Green Mountain Guild and the Long Island Guild of Artists. Joanne Downs has been weaving for 20 years and making baskets for eight. She has taught at the Stony Brook Union Craft Center, Paumanok Weaver's Guild, South Country Library, the Red Barn and right at her kitchen table. Angela Giannotti is a proficient crocheter from early childhood. Barbara Michelsen does many forms of craft work including knitting, embroidery, quilting and Russian punch needle embroidery. She has taught needlepoint and knitting. Bridgette Nelson is an accomplished seamstress who has been creating beautiful clothing for 15 years. Jean Pennington has been quilting for 25 years using the traditional hand cut and pieced patchwork method and hand quilting. Donna Perry has over 50 years experience in fiber arts and many other media. Doris Walton has worked as a designer, teacher, editor for a knitting and fashion publication.
