Day
1 New York - Lisbon
Our pilgrimage begins
as we leave New York’s JFK Airport for an overnight flight to
Lisbon. Dinner and breakfast are served on board.
Day 2
Lisbon - Santarem - Fatima
After an
orientation drive through Lisbon, we drive to the town of Santarem,
one of the oldest cities in the world. We will walk through its
narrow streets to the Church of St Stephen, containing the oldest
recorded Eucharistic miracle. See the 750-year-old Holy Miracle of
Santarem, a relic of the Bleeding Host. Stolen by a woman in payment
to a sorcerer, the host began to emit a brilliant beam of light and
then to bleed. Reverently returned to the church of St Stephen, this
miracle has been on continuous display since 1269. In the early
afternoon, we drive to nearby Fatima, the place where the Blessed
Mother appeared in 1917 to three simple shepherd children and
exhorted mankind to pray for world peace. After settling into your
hotel, you may participate in a candlelight procession or relax.
Dinner and overnight.
Days 3
& 4 Fatima
After breakfast,
we will celebrate Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions.
Touring Fatima, we see the Basilica, the site of Francesco's and
Jacinta's graves, the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived,
and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's
return from prison. Follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via
Sacra (Sacred Way) culminating in the Chapel of Calvary which
overlooks all of Fatima. Join pilgrims from around the world in an
evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary. Don’t forget
your white handkerchief for the Adeus farewell, when thousands of
pilgrims wave a loving farewell to the statue of Our Lady of the
Rosary. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Day 5
Fatima - Trujillo - Madrid
After breakfast
we motor across rural Portugal into Spain. We stop in the charming
city of Trujillo to visit its magnificent Plaza. Then on to Spain's
capital, Madrid. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Madrid / Excursion to Toledo
After breakfast,
we tour the picturesque Spanish capital. We’ll see acacia-lined
broad avenues, the old quarters, Puerta del Sol, Retiro Park, and
Plaza de Espana. Our morning concludes with a visit to the Royal
Palace, a treasure-house of tapestries, porcelain clocks, and other
masterpieces. Afternoon excursion to the medieval city of Toledo
perched high above the Tagus River. Highlights include Toledo's
13th-century cathedral, St Thomas Church, El Greco's House, and one
of the damascene metal workshops. Dinner and overnight in Madrid.
Day 7
Madrid - Avila - Segovia - Burgos
Breakfast then we
drive to Avila, a lovely 16th-century Spanish city. Avila has
changed very little since the days of St Teresa, to whom the city is
dedicated. St Teresa, a great mystic, was the first woman to be
named a Doctor of the Church. We visit the Cathedral which contains
many of her relics, the monument marking her birthplace, and the
Carmelite Convent where her miraculously pierced heart rests in a
glass reliquary. Later we drive to Segovia, a charming city that
possesses a multitude of important historical monuments such as the
magnificent Lady of the Cathedrals church and a Roman aqueduct.
Crossing Spain we head to Burgos, famous for its splendid Gothic
cathedral, one of the largest and most majestic in all of Europe.
Dinner and overnight in Burgos.
Day 8 Burgos
- Lourdes
After breakfast
we leave Spain. You will delight in the scenery as we motor through
the Pyrenees Mountains. Situated between the spectacular mountain
river, Gave de Pau, stands picturesque Lourdes, the birthplace of St
Bernadette to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858 near the Grotto of
Massabielle. After settling in, we celebrate Mass at the famous
Grotto. Later our tour of Lourdes will include the sanctuary; the
Basilica of St Pius X, the world's largest underground church; and
the baths where hundreds of miraculous cures have taken place after
which you may participate in a nightly candlelight procession.
Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 9 to
11 Lourdes
During your stay
in Lourdes you will have a chance to celebrate daily Mass at the
Grotto, enjoy a video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and
walk in the footsteps of St Bernadette. See Boly Mill where St
Bernadette was born and the "Cachot," an abandoned prison
where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. Join your prayers
with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the
sick, drink water from the miraculous spring the Virgin directed
Bernadette to locate at the base of the grotto, and submerge
yourself in the healing baths. Experience Christ’s love as you
walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the holy
Grotto. Kneel in the chapel built on the very rock of the Grotto in
obedience to the request of the "Immaculate Conception."
Attend the blessing of the sick and participate in nightly
candlelight processions requested by Our Lady. Time for private
devotions before dinner and overnight.

USA

celebrating Mass at the majestic Notre Dame Cathedral, and then
visiting the Champs Elysees, L’Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower,
the Church of the Sacre Coeur, and the Church of St Vincent De Paul.
Dinner and overnight in Paris.
Day
13 Paris / Excursion to Nevers
Depart
by motorcoach for Nevers by way of the picturesque Loire Valley. St
Bernadette lived for 12 years as a member of the Congregation of the
Sisters of Nevers, having taken the veil in 1867. Throughout her
life she suffered from and eventually died of asthma at the age of
35. See St Bernadette’s incorrupt body at the convent of St
Gildard, miraculously preserved since her death in 1879. Dinner and
return to the hotel in Paris
Day
14 Paris / Excursion to Lisieux
After
breakfast we travel northwest by motorcoach to the town of Lisieux,
the birthplace of St Therese whom Pope Pius X called "the
greatest saint of modern times." Her extraordinary love for God
and service to humanity will come alive as you visit the Basilica
Cathedral of St Peter, and Les Buissonets, her family home. On
display are relics, clothing, and personal objects belonging to the
"Little Flower." View the statue depicting the Virgin Mary
who smiled at St Therese during an ecstacy before curing her
illness. Combine your prayers in the Carmel Chapel with those of the
Carmelite sisters, just as St Therese did before her death in 1897.
Return to Paris for dinner and overnight.
